Michael Barry joined The Pearce Law Group, P.C. in 2020. Mr. Barry previously worked as a law clerk for a general civil litigation firm and conducted document review in securities fraud cases for a plaintiff’s litigation firm. During his time at Louisiana State University, Michael interned with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Civil Division.
The practice of law is a second career for Mr. Barry. Mr. Barry served as a Combat Engineer Officer in the United States Marine Corps for almost seven (7) years and attained the rank of Captain and was responsible for managing over $198 million of programs in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He conducted two combat deployments to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom with the Second (2D) Combat Engineer Battalion of the 2D Marine Division. Before joining the USMC, Michael was a Police Officer with the Charleston City Police Department and served in the downtown area, routinely interviewing witnesses, responding to crimes in progress, observing and gathering evidence, writing up incident reports and testifying at criminal trials.
Mr. Barry is married to Brittany Barry. They have two boys, Detree and Altman. He and his family are members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. In his spare time, Mr. Barry enjoys taking advantage of the superb in-shore fishing in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas and spending time with his growing family.
